Tania i am thinking the same thing.

Is it worth making your own, i have some foster fire bead release, and it is taking a long time to use as everytime i think it is getting low i add some water to it as it dries out easily, but i also leave the lid off as i work and dip mandrels as i need them, so i flame dry, it works most of the time for me.

I would like to know what release people are using at the moment, and which are the best recipes.

Cheers Jane :D

Hi Jane
I've used foster fire bead release. Just find if it is not just the right mix tends to flake of or crack when making a bead. Good when cleaning out of beads.

I found Barbra's Ozziebuddy very good not any complaints. I still get occasional cracks of the beads but not many. Excellent when cleaning out of beads. I like the white colour.

North coast bead maker. Just bubbles in the bead if you don't flame it long enough. Might be just the Hot Head. Ok cleaning out.

Yesterday was given Hotline from Hartley and Williams and Sludge from arrow springs that I haven't used yet. Was thinking about selling it. Don't like the dark grey colour.

So that is my sum up for bead release for now.
I'm alway curious about things and got to investigate.

Tania

Ive enjoyed working with Barbara's bead release. Easy to use, I dont have any trouble during or after using it. I soak my beads for a couple of mins, and use the bead reamer on them and the bead release is out like a flash. :D
